Creta Mare 550

A modern Creta Mare 550 license-free motorboat. Perfect for couples, families, and small groups looking to explore secluded beaches, hidden coves, and the stunning Cretan coastline at their own pace. Featuring comfortable seating, a sun canopy for shade, and easy handling, the Creta Mare 550 offers an ideal self-drive boating experience in the Mediterranean.

Stops along the way

  • Agii Theodori

The island of Agii Theodori, also known as Thodorou, is a small uninhabited islet nestled just off the coast of Chania, Crete. A protected nature reserve and home to the rare Cretan wild goat, the Kri-Kri, it combines breathtaking natural scenery with centuries of history — from Venetian fortresses to pristine turquoise waters that draw snorkelers and boat trippers from across the island.

  • The stretch of fine white sand and crystal clear Aegean waters at Ramyas beach, Crete.

    Ramyas beach

Ramyas Beach, also known as Sfakos Beach, is a secluded coastal spot near Afrata on Crete's northwest coast. With its golden sands, clear Mediterranean waters, and wild natural setting, it is a peaceful escape well off the tourist trail — ideal for those who prefer their beaches unspoiled and uncrowded. The area's hiking trails and proximity to the village of Afrata add to its appeal as a destination for a full and unhurried day on Crete's quieter coastline.

  • Rugged landscape meeting the calm, deep blue waters at Sfakos beach, Crete.

    Sfakos beach

Sfakos Beach is one of Chania’s most secluded and extraordinary coastal spots, nestled within a small canyon on the Rodopou Peninsula. This tiny beach — only about 12 metres wide — is characterised by smooth marble stones, crystal-clear waters fed by natural freshwater springs, and sheer enclosing cliffs that create an atmosphere of remarkable intimacy. It is one of those rare places that seems almost impossible until you are standing in it.

  • Menies beach bay parked boats view from top

    Menies beach

Menies Beach, located on the northeastern tip of Chania on the Spatha Peninsula, is a remote and unspoiled paradise known for its crystal-clear jade waters and pebbled shoreline. Accessible via a rough dirt road or by boat from Kolymbari, this secluded cove sits near the ruins of the ancient city of Diktynna and its temple to the goddess Artemis — making it as historically fascinating as it is naturally beautiful.

FAQs

During the peak season (June to September), booking several weeks in advance is highly recommended, especially for private charters and luxury yachts. Popular boats and destinations such as Balos Lagoon and Gramvousa often sell out well before the travel date.

Guest safety is always the top priority. If weather conditions are unsuitable for the planned trip, the operator may offer an alternative route, reschedule the excursion, or provide a refund according to the cancellation policy of the specific boat trip.

Crete offers access to some of the island's most spectacular coastal destinations, including Balos Lagoon, Gramvousa Island, Menies Beach, Thodorou Island, Seitan Limania, Elafonissi, Loutro, Marmara Beach, Agia Roumeli, and many secluded bays that are only accessible by sea.

All boat trips include a professional skipper, fuel for the planned itinerary, safety equipment, and insurance. Most cruises also include meals, drinks, snorkeling equipment, and SUP boards, allowing you to enjoy a comfortable and relaxing day at sea. Specific inclusions are listed on each boat trip page.

For the most enjoyable experience, we recommend bringing swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and a light jacket for the return journey. Don't forget your camera to capture Crete's stunning coastline, crystal-clear waters, and hidden beaches. If meals and drinks are not included in your trip, you may also wish to bring snacks and water.
