Imeri Gramvousa, Balos beach, Elafonisi beach, Loutro village

Description

Your day begins at the iconic Balos Lagoon, one of Crete’s most spectacular natural wonders. Famous for its shallow turquoise waters, white sand, and exotic scenery, Balos is part of a protected Natura 2000 area rich in wildlife and untouched beauty. Relax, swim in the crystal-clear sea, or snorkel in this tropical-like paradise surrounded by dramatic rocky landscapes.

Next, continue to the historic island of Gramvousa, crowned by its impressive Venetian fortress built in the 16th century. Once a strategic stronghold and later a refuge for Cretan rebels and pirates, the island offers breathtaking panoramic views over the Cretan Sea. Explore the rugged landscape, discover its fascinating history, and enjoy the wild beauty of this unique destination.

The journey then takes you to Elafonisi, one of the most famous beaches in Greece. Renowned for its pink-hued sand and shallow lagoon, Elafonisi is a protected natural reserve with crystal-clear waters and a peaceful atmosphere. Walk across the shallow waters to the small island, unwind on the soft sand, and experience one of Crete’s most magical coastal landscapes.

Your final destination is the picturesque village of Loutro, a hidden gem accessible only by sea. Nestled between dramatic mountains and the Libyan Sea, Loutro enchants visitors with its whitewashed houses, tranquil waterfront, and traditional Cretan charm. Enjoy time to relax by the sea, swim in the clear waters, or savor authentic local cuisine at one of the seaside tavernas.

Combining stunning beaches, rich history, remote coastal scenery, and authentic island charm, this full-day private experience offers the perfect way to discover some of Crete’s most unforgettable destinations from the sea.

Stops along the way

  • Turquoise lagoon and white sandy beach at Balos, western Crete

    Imeri Gramvousa

A dramatic island fortress near Balos, crowned by a Venetian citadel, with a shipwreck on its shore and a history of piracy that made it one of the most notorious havens in the eastern Mediterranean.

  • Vast view of the turquoise lagoon and bright white sandy beach at Balos, western Crete

    Balos beach

Balos Beach, located on the northwest coast of Crete near Chania, is one of the island's most iconic natural wonders. Known for its exotic turquoise lagoon, soft pink-white sand, and shallow crystal-clear waters, this extraordinary destination feels more like a tropical paradise than a Greek island beach. Whether you arrive by boat from Kissamos or hike down from the Gramvousa Peninsula, the first sight of Balos is genuinely unforgettable.

  • Pale pink sand and crystal-clear lagoon waters at Elafonissi beach, western Crete.

    Elafonisi beach

A world-famous beach at Crete's southwestern tip, where a shallow turquoise lagoon, rose-tinted sand, and the protected islet of Elafonisi create one of the Mediterranean's most iconic landscapes.

  • Quaint harbor and traditional white houses of Loutro village, set against the deep blue waters of the southern Cretan coast.

    Loutro village

Loutro is a charming, car-free village on the southern coast of Crete, accessible only by boat or on foot. Nestled in a sheltered bay between steep cliffs and the deep blue of the Libyan Sea, its whitewashed buildings and unhurried way of life offer one of the most genuinely restful experiences on the island. Loutro is the place to come when the rest of Crete starts to feel too busy.
